Recess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wut up guys!!!!!! So I decided that I would do something a little different, and write an album review on one of my favorite artists of all time.
So, a couple of months ago a new Skrillex song got leaked, and the next day we learned that the long awaited Skrillex album was coming out. Okay, I was frickin pumped. I had been waiting forever for this album, especially since Skrillex is one of my biggest influences. Well, it finally came out.

Now, I'm gonna be honest and say that this wasn't exactly what I had been hoping for. Now, I'm also NOT saying that it was bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting. So here's my song-by-song review of Skrillex's new album, Recess.

Okay, so we begin with a opener called All's Fair in Love and Brostep. Kinda a long title, right? This song was a rerun version of Sonny's song "Untitled Dj Tool". We kick into this awesome intro and hear some pretty awesome basses and some reggae rapping by The Ragga Twins. This is the Skrillex I was waiting for. Promising intro, awesome raps and killer build-up. Nice. Good start. But, sadly, things go downhill when we kick into the drop. What.The. Crap.

For those of you who don't know there's an artist named Zomboy. Zomboy sort of ripped-off  Skrillex's "Untitled Dj Tool" mentioned earlier. Sooooo, because Skrillex was pissed, Sonny decided that he would make a drop that is a exact copy of Zomboy's Terror Squad drop.
This made me mad for a few reasons. One is, as my wonderful sister put it, Skrillex is talented enough to where he DOESN'T need to do that. It sucks because he takes a great opener and screws it up to where I can't hear it and think, "Wow this is so great", because it's just not original.
Second reason. Terror squad had a similar bass skreech sound that Skrillex had, but it wasn't even that bad of a rip-off. It was just really unnecessary all around.
Though, Skrillex and Zomboy are totes cool with it.

So, taking into fact that even though Skrillex totally screwed up Terror Squad, the song is still kinda cool. Soooooo, I'm gonna give it a 3/5

Next is our album-title track, Recess. This song is just great. No other way to put it. They have this rapper named Fatman Scoop on the track, and he just adds so much energy. This collab with Kill The Noise is just super epic and totally a jammer. It's sooooo good. Not much more to say.

Next we get to my favorite song off this album. Now, most of the reviewers of this album were mad that Skrillex went "trap" (that's actually a load of crap considering that there is only 2 trap songs on the album. Just saying) Stranger is one of the two trap songs and it combines a dancy, moohmbahton-y, trappy feel ALLLLLL mashed up into one epic song. This song has some really awesome vocals and is just fantastic. 4.9/5

Next song is Try It Out. This song was released as a single in September of last year, so it wasn't much of a surprise. This song is still really good, and is more of the Skrillex sound we know and love.

Then, we have our 5th song, Coast Is Clear (Feat Chance The Rapper). This song is really out of the Skrillex-style zone. It's actually a pretty fun song. Chance sings a kind of Jazzy-Soul intro, then kicks into some pretty cool rap. This song is very different and I have to admit, when I first heard I was like....

Though, this song is kinda gross, but it's a cool song though, so 3.9/5




Next is probably the biggest disgrace to electronic music. This. Song. Sucks. BIG time. Dirty Vibe is just a waste of time. Okay, first off, it's a dirty song. We have CL from 2NE1, and G-Dragon from Big Bang. They probably don't realize what they are saying, because it's pretty bad. I blame Diplo, though, for the nasty lyrics. Diplo collabed with Skrillex on this one, annnnnddddddd there are many reasons you can tell. One is, the vocal production sucks. Second, it's trap, which is all that Diplo does. Thirdly, it's gross. I skip this song on my i-Pod every time, because it's just that bad. It's not only because of the lyrics, but because it just sucks.

The next song, Ragga Bomb, is also kinda disappointing. I mean, it's not bad, but it just doesn't deliver. Sonny works with a faster tempo in this one, but it just lacks a pumping beat. It's got a coolish rap, but it just really is not the Skrillex blows the living crap out of your speakers.
So............. this song gets a 3/5


Okay, I really question this next song. A lot. Like, how high had Sonny been when he made this song. The first clue is the fact that the song is called  Doompy Poomp. Daheq is up with that title? Anyway, so we kick into this really trippy vocal jibberish crap-thing, and then this REALLLYYYY weird synth thing that just screams drugs. It really gets weird when he has this vocal sample that says "PARTY", but he slows it down at one point to where it sounds like he's saying "POTTY". It sounds like a song that would be appropriate for the toilet. Seriously Sonny? Wut daheq.

 Though, it is kinda fun to make fun of, and it does sort have a couple of creative sounds, sooooooo 2.3/5.



Forward!

F*** That crosses that boundaries of different. At first, I was slightly annoyed by the oddness of the drop, but then the song quickly grew on me. Unfortunately, it crosses the boundaries just slightly as far as the f-word goes. It's never actually fully used, but still the censorship doesn't hide how many times it's there. Still, the song is very different and has very nice synths and is mega catchy.

Next is Skrillex' remix of Niki and the Dove's "Ease My Mind". I don't know exactly why this is on the album. Don't get me wrong, I love the song, it's just that, it's a remix and not a original. I guess the goal was that it'd do better on a Skrillex record rather than a Niki record. It's a pretty good song, and isn't disappointing. The only thing that bugs me is that some of the transitions are slightly sloppy, sooooo 4.3/5

Next is our wrap-up song "Fire Away". This song is like the "Summit" of Bangarang, or the "With you friends" off SMANS. This song is pretty great. It's a great end. It's a great melodic track. It's also super depressing. Of course, it's gotta be. It's just like Summit and With You (although this song doesn't really have any actual words). This song is great to chill to. It's a great wrap-up to the album.

Overall, Recess is really good. It delivers a variety of styles, and is fun upbeat dance stuff. Unfortunately, it's not as good as we can expect. SMANS is really good. Bangarang is mindblowing!!! But Recess is just good. The songs that are fantastic make it worth it, but the bad songs just take up space. It would've been a lot better if he had just cut those songs and made it a EP. Doompy Poomp, and Dirty Vibe just waste time! Recess, Fire Away, and Stranger are the best songs. The make the album worth it.

I think the album gets a 3.5/5

Abolish Abortion Pt 2

Here are some things I forgot to mention in my last post.

Abortion REALLY has become a Christian issue. I pray that no Christians were in the Capitol chanting "Hail Satan". I'm not here to condemn, nor am I here to judge.
I'm just here to tell you like it is. You can't be pro-choice and Catholic. You SHOULDN'T be a Christian and be pro-choice. All I can say is sadly, I know of lots Christians who are pro-choice. Sad, right? If we are true God-fearing believers, than why can we support such merciless slaughter? And how seriously do some other Christians support orange-shirters? Some may say that they don't support abortion, but say they support women having the choice. Ok....... WHAT THE H-E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS???????????? You're telling me that you don't approve of women having abortons, but you support them having the choice? WUT????????????? That's like saying you hate murders, but you'll happily let people go murder others, JUST because you think they should have the choice.
That's like telling your child that you don't think they should do drugs, but you would approve of them doing drugs none the less, EVEN if it kills them, because you think they should have the choice. There is no Love in that relationship.No matter what they say.

What a sad issue. So sad. I don't give a crap if the child you abort is a homosexual. I don't give a crap if the child you abort persecutes my faith. I don't give a crap if the child you abort is a murderer. I don't give a crap if the child you abort kills me. I DON'T GIVE A CRAP IF THE CHILD YOU ABORT IS THE ANTI-CHRIST! God knows I don't want others to be killed, I don't want to die, I don't want to be persecuted, I don't want to see the Anti-Christ. But at LEAST the children would have the choice.

If you were truly concerned for the babies life, and wanted the best for the baby, the answer is not abortion. Adoption can change that. Your child could be in the hands of a loving family. If you don't approve of the family, then you find another one. You can help prevent abortion from happening. Help your nearest local pregnancy center. Volunteer at adoptions centers. Minister to people who are considering abortion. There are other ways.

Abolish Abortion

Okay, Okay, touchy subject coming through.
If your pro-choice, you either can keep reading and get really ticked at me, or you can stop reading now and not hate me for the rest of your life.
But here goes my opinion on abortion.

Over the weekend, I attended the 2014 MARCH FOR LIFE in Texas' great capitol city, Austin. I have to say, I was blown away by how many people were there. We started walking, but as we reached the Capitol entrance, we were greeted by the angry orange-shirted pro-choicers. Needless to say, I was pretty unimpressed with how many people were in there group. I mean, in July, 2013, during the pro-life legislation, we pro-lifers were SIGNIFICANTLY outnumbered. In the dome of the capitol, we were surrounded by a loud, large crowd of orange-shirted, mostly college student ranged, people. What a experience. Women in orange calling pro-lifer women "b**ches, men going around the circle crotch thrusting all the young women, and all pro-abortion people trying to start a riot while chanting "Hail Satan". God Bless them all. Thank goodness I wasn't there on the night of the vote when a riot WAS started, when 3 pro-choicers were arrested, and when the police confiscated 20+ jars of feces and urine.

So all that to say, the loud, but mostly controlled "crowd" of orange-shirters at the capitol entrance was pretty lame. One thing I told my youth group, though, was that these people WERE humans, who REALLLLLYYYYY need spiritual guidance in their lives. Anyway, we walk inside the capitol and hear some people speak, but one speech REALLY caught my attention.

It was a speech from a lady that had had an abortion. She talked about how it ruined her life, and how she suffered through things such as depression and thoughts of suicide. She said she has regretted it since the day it happened.

The thing that stood was the fact that she has regretted it since day one. I don't know if anyone noticed, but EVERY story I've heard from women who've had abortions REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, EVERY abortion story I've heard ends in REGRET!!!!!
Makes you wonder how many pro-choice women have ACTUALLY had abortions. Also makes you wonder why the men pro-choicers  even exist. Not that I think that men shouldn't care about women, but why the heck are men fighting for women to have abortions? It's probably NOT because of "women's right", or "their body, their choice!" It's probably because they wanna have sex with random women and not have to worry about being a dad. Disgusting, isn't it? Yes, yes it is.

So why is abortion pure evil? Well, simple. It takes the life of a human being. Yes, I know it's kind of a cliche response, but it's simply just MURDER. 

The bible says in Psalm 127: 3-5  
"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate"
Annndddddd in Psalm 139: 13-16
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them." 
ANNNNDDDDDDDDDDDD........

Mark 10:14 

"But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God." 

Better not abort the kingdom of God, ay?

When someone argues that it's just a fetus, just say this. If you recognize that the world came from a protein, and that this protein was the first "living thing", then why CAN'T YOU RECOGNIZE THAT A UNBORN BABY IN A LIVING HUMAN BEING, IS A LIVING THING!!!!!!

Psalm 139 says, "Your eyes saw my unformed substance."
If God, The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit, says that he saw YOUR UNFORMED SUBSTANCE, it means that that "fetus" has been SEEN BY GOD, CREATED BY GOD, and MADE IN GOD'S LIKENESS!!!!!!!!!

And sadly, this has turned into a Christian fight. But my brothers and sisters, we can NEVER stand for abortion. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the Bible says that unborn babies have been created by God in his likeness, than I NEVER EVER want to see a fellow Christian tell me that it is okay to take a baby's life. We can not stand for fellow believers to support this evil, merciless slaughter of human children.

God bless all those orange-shirters who stood outside those Capitol gates. God bless abortion doctors. God bless Roe and Wade. God bless Texas, and God bless America. Pray for those who participate in the killing of children.

Down Time

There are many things you can spend your life doing. Let me just take a guess at what you are doing now. If you are on a phone, then you're reading this. Good for you. But if you are on a computer, you probably have the facebook tab up. I appreciate your full attention.

What am I doing right now? Besides blogging, I'm making some headbanger Thanksgiving music! Tis the season. You're probably reading this going, "Boy this is a waste of time. Sam just going on about nothing."
Well your right, if that's what you were thinking. I really don't have a lot to say today, except this:

If you find today, or tomorrow, or the whole week, that you feel you have NOTHING to do, try talking to God.
              
Crazy, huh? Not so much.


See, God is most likely not your first priority for the day. Sadly, that's true for most of us, myself included. We get caught up in the what-not of the day, and lose focus on God. If Candy Crush gets boring, TURN THE DANG PHONE OFF. Sit for 10 minutes, or even 5 minutes, and just think about what God has done for YOU (yes you) throughout the day. Ask him to bless the rest of your day, and night too. I'm not saying you should only spend time with God when your bored. God should be a little higher than that, but if you feel bored, he's always there. Always!

THANK YOU WHATEVER MORON INVENTED TWERKING!

Here is my opinion on all this weird stuff going on with Miley Cyrus, and Robin Thicke.

First off, I want to say that I think both of them are MESSED up, very far from God, and I DO NOT like what either of them are doing. But I do want to say that I think it's sad what response they're getting from Christians. I haven't seen one Christian post that we need to PRAY for both of them, or that they would come to Jesus, OR that they would change they way they behave. Not a single thing about it. Sad. We're supposed to respond with love, and all I'm seeing is pure hate. Hey, I don't think ANYONE should like what they are doing, or what influence they have on some people, but I do think we shouldn't hate them as a person, because that's not right. For all we know, Robin Thicke could become a Christian, and Miley could come back to God. Not saying it's probable, but I could be possible. Prayer is a powerful thing. If we pray there could be a MAJJJJJJJOOOOOOORRRRRRR change. God can do anything. We just need ask for them to be changed.

I think they're a bad influence, and that they don't act respectful. Robin, girls aren't toys. They deserve just as much respect as you do. What kind of a role model are you being for your kids? MAN UP! And Miley, RESPECT YOURSELF!!!!!! YOU ARE NOT A SEX OBJECT! YOU DO NOT NEED TO DOWNGRADE YOURSELF FOR A GUYS ENTERTAINMENT!!! I know it's most likely for the money, and for the attention, because your certainly getting a LOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT of attention, but act mature OKAY!

My message to anyone reading this: PRAY FOR HEALING FOR BOTH MILEY AND ROBIN! Please. I don't think it takes a genius to see that they need it. Just hope they will change.

Debating stupid things on facebook.

You. Yeah you. Facebook debates are stupid.

Look, I know that sharing a gun law pic is NOT going to effect the president. Nor do I think that the president will check the likes on facebook to make SURE that it's okay with the American people to pass a certain bill. What the cracker jack guys. I wish that I didn't know that you were a pro-abortion activist. But the main thing is, WHATEVER political post you decide to put on your wall IS going to OFFEND SOMEONE!!!!!! I get offended, but really, if there wasn't any offensive stuff on the internet, there would nothing but pics of our cats.

No hope for the human race

So lets talk about facebook debates. We have two people, Bob and Bill. Bill post's that bigMacs are better than Whataburgers. Bob quickly comments "What a stupid thing to say. Obviously bigMacs suck, and Whataburgers are the way to go."
Two problems with this. Bill is purposefully TRYING to pick a fight because he is messing with people's opinion, and very well knows that people WILL not have the same opinion as him.
But Bob is NOT completely innocent. Bob knows when he comments the opposite opinion of Bill's, Bill will most certainly be offended, because he ALSO is saying something other people might not agree with. Then of course Bill has to reply to save his most wonderful opinion, "Well that's rude. Obviously you know NOTHING about bigMacs! You should be careful what you say to the man who is burger master." Bill knows EXACTLY what he's communicating. I'm right your wrong, and I want more comments on this status.

That's when things get REAL nasty. Bob calls Bill stupid. Bill says Bob is REALLY stupid. Then they get mad at each other and un-friend each other and there goes a great friendship.

Truth is guys, no matter what you say or how you put it, your opinion status's on political/worldly views is just another way to get attention. I'm not saying you can't say that you like something, but comparing it to you something you KNOW other people do NOT like is just another STUPID debate waiting to happen. Be nice to your friends. Spare your friendships. If so and so thinks your wrong then FINE. Who cares. Your comments will most likely NOT change there opinions.

I know all you facebook and russian peeps like to read my blog, so I will continue to write something interesting.

So I will talk about you, me and us.

YOU. What things do you like. Well I can safely say (with the exception of the people that are out of country) that you are a friend of mine, and that I know you. If someone one asked you if you liked t.v, you would probably say yes. If someone asked you if you liked sugar, you would most definitely say yes. How about if I asked you if you liked church. I will not take the liberty of answering for you, because truly that's between you and God, not me and you. But what if I asked you if you liked liberty, what would you say?


Well if you like freedom, THEN GET OFF THIS COMPUTER AND DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR COUNTRY. I don't mean tweet and tag the U.S in it, BUT I MEAN GET OUT THERE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's a lot you can do. VOLUNTEER!!!!!! Help a neighbor. I don't know think of SOMETHING. Liberty doesn't come like that *Sam snaps fingers*. WE HAVE TO EARN IT!

Now for me. ALLLLL those things that I said about you apply to me to. I start by picking a piece of trash of the sidewalk, or saying hi to someone. THOSE SIMPLE THINGS WILL CHANGE US 4EVER!!! I LOVE EVERYONE!!!!! I love t.v and sugar, and actually, I REALLY love church. It's amazing that I have the luxury of being able to hear God's word every Sunday.


Now us. WE NEED TO LOVE MORE!!! ALL OF US!! ME, you and everybody else. Our world is so full of hate and lust and loath that we need to have TRUE LOVE. True Love= Jesus/God/Holy Spirit= Happiness= Joy= No sorrow= Salvation!! Simple. It's mathematical
